The 85-year-old former leader still faces charges of complicity in the killing of protesters during an uprising that ousted him in 2011. State TV was quoted in reports as saying, βIn the context of the emergency law, the deputy military commander issued an order that Hosni Mubarak should be put under house arrest.β If and when his release happens, analysts said, it would indicate the military is rolling back changes that stemmed from the 2011 uprising, the BBC said.
