The word war between the ruling party and Vice President Jejomar Binay escalated as the latter called Liberal Party (LP) members linking him to former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo “hypocrites.” Binay has been criticized for including allies of Mrs Arroyo in a senatorial line-up being finalized by a coalition he formed for the 2013 elections. “Look who’s talking? Those who are saying those now were rabid supporters of GMA (Arroyo) before,” Binay said in a statement. The LP plans to field its own senatorial bets in 2013 and is in fact choosing from names that are also on the list of Binay’s newly formed United Nationalist Alliance.
