She’s been the subject of talk and memes on social media.

On August 28 and 29, some asked whether it was appropriate for President Benigno Aquino III to receive a fugitive in Malacañang Palace.

How many fugitives have been given the privilege of surrendering to a Philippine president? None in more than half a century

Netizens also scoffed at the idea of Napoles turning state witness, following the statement of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas that Napoles is an “important witness.”

But it doesn’t end there.

Another statement from Roxas merited mixed reactions from social media on Saturday, August 31. 

Roxas said they were studying the possibility of capturing via a CCTV camera goings-on in Janet Napoles’ quarters and doing a livestream.
