A total of 47,914 people (10,406 families) were affected by the typhoon across Luzon and parts of the Visayas as it also enhanced the southwest monsoon, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said in its latest bulletin Monday, September 23.

Odette displaced 27,041 people from their homes, but only 159 people stayed at a total of 3 evacuation centers. A total of 217 homes have been damaged, the NDRRMC said.

The toll still stands at 2 dead, and 3 missing.

It made a direct hit on Batanes early Saturday, September 21, packing maximum winds of up to 215 km/h near the center and gusting up to 250 km/h as it made landfall over the town of Itbayat. – Rappler.com
