MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang will “seriously consider” the nomination of Nora Aunor for national artist, if submitted to President Benigno Aquino III for consideration, a Palace official said on Wednesday, April 18.

“She has had a very good and very storied career in movies and she’s certainly one of the people that are respected in the industry. So that would be seriously considered if that were submitted to the proper agency,” Secretary Ramon Carandang of the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office (PCDSPO) said.

Carandang, who was responding to questions from reporters, said that Malacañang has not received a formal nomination of Aunor for national artist.
