
India tested on Thursday, April 19, a new long-range, nuclear-capable missile, a defense source who requested anonymity has told international media. The 17-meter Ani V, with a range of more than 5,000 kilometers, was launched from a site off India’s eastern state of Orissa. The test comes after a failed rocket launch by North Korea that was condemned by the United Nations Security Council. In India’s case, however, an expert said it would take some time before the world will know if the test has been successful.
