MANILA, Philippines – Staying in the national capital region for the Undas weekend?

Scores of Filipinos will be heading out to pay their respects to the departed, and a lot of Metro Manila cities have implemented their respective rerouting schemes. Find out which streets you can – and can’t – pass through.

MAKATI CITY – Beginning midnight of October 31 until midnight of November 2

Closed to traffic

  • Kalayaan Avenue – from Zapote Street to F. Zobel St.
  • South Avenue – from Metropolitan to J.P. Rizal
  • Vito Cruz – from South Avenue to Zapote St.
  • N. Garcia (formerly Reposo) Street – from Jupiter to JP Rizal
  • Pililia Street – from J.P. Rizal to Kalayaan Avenue

Open to two-way traffic

  • J.P. Rizal – from Pasong Tirad to Makati Avenue
  • Kalayaan Avenue – from F. Zobel St. to Makati Avenue
  • Pasong Tirad to Zapote St.

The Makati Department of Public Safety also advised motorists to expect heavy traffic, and to avoid the South Cemetery Area unless necessary.

  • Stretch of Aurora Boulevard from Dimasalang to Rizal Avenue 
  • Stretch of Blumentritt from A Bonifacio to P Guevarra
  • Stretch of Dimasalang from Makiling to Blumentritt

  • Stretch of P. Guevarra from Cavite to Pampanga 
  • Stretch of Lenor Rivera from Cavite to Aurora Boulevard

  • Craig Street
  • Simon Street 
  • Fr. Huertas Street
  • Sulu Street 
  • Oroquieta St
  • Metrica and other peripheries not included in the rerouting

Two-way traffic from Lopez Junction of Dr. A. Santos Avenue in Barangay San Isidro through El Grande Avenue, A. Aguirre Avenue and President Avenue, and ending again along Dr. A. Santos Avenue in Barangay BF Homes.

  • No parking along C Raymundo Ave from Mercedes Ave to Sagad, Angeles St. 
  • No parking along Padre Lupo St 
  • No entry for vehicles in all cemeteries


SAN JUAN CITY – Effective Nov 1, 2013

Going to San Juan Cemetery

  • Boni Serrano Ave corner Horseshoe drive one-way going to San Juan Cemetery up to 1st West Street 
  • From EDSA going to San Juan, turn right to 2nd Avenue, left to S. Road, straight to Marifosa Street, left to C. Benitez Street, left to Boni Serrano going to San Juan Cemetery 

Going to Ortigas Ave

  • All vehicles from EDSA going to San Juan must turn right to 2nd Avenue, then left to S. Road, stright ahead to Marifose Street, left to C. Benitez St., straight ahead to Boni Serrano Ave going to Ortigas Ave up to their destination

San Juan – Crame Terminal

  • From A Luna Street crner N Domingo Street, right to PInaglabanan Street straight ahead to Santolan Road crossing Ortigas Ave to Boni Serrano Ave up to the drop point area Tyler St corner Boni Serrano Ave

PUJs from San Juan to Crame

  • Proceed to designated terminal at 3rd West Street corner Boni Serrano Ave
