Filipino graduates leave school in search of jobs and join a dismal job market.  One of the places where some find hope is T.M. Kalaw Street in Manila.  For more than a decade, it’s been the center of recruitment for the maritime industry.  Overseas Filipino workers are the country’s top dollar earners, and ships looking for crews have long taken Filipinos: 20% of the world’s 1.2 million seafarers are Filipinos.  Look at life through the lenses of Kalaw.
