MANILA, Philippines – A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck Sultan Kudarat on Sunday night, November 3, with tremors felt in the Davao region.
The quake happened at 7:04 pm, with its epicenter located 195 kilometers southwest of Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat (at 4.6°N, 123.5°E), according to a bulletin released by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Tectonic in origin, the earthquake had a depth of 556 kms. The US Geological Survey measured the depth at 546.3 kms.
Intensity 3 was felt in Malita, Davao del Sur, while Intensity 2 was experienced in Davao City.
As of this posting, there are no reports of damage and injuries. Phivolcs has not issued a tsunami warning related to the earthquake. – with reports from Karlos Manlupig/Rappler.com
