Morsi defiant as trial adjourns

Deposed Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi remained defiant as his trial adjourned, after he refused to recognize the
legitimacy of the court and demanded that coup leaders be prosecuted instead. Flown into Cairo from a secret military location, Morsi faced charges of inciting violence and murder. The trial marked his first public appearance since he was overthrown on July 3. Morsi refused to wear prison clothes, insisted on defending himself and reiterated he is the legitimate president of Egypt. His lawyer said he acted “like a lion.” The trial resumes in 2 months.
