LIVESTREAM: Tacloban City residents may watch the Pacquiao-Rios fight

MANILA, Philippines – The most-awaited match between local boxing hero Manny Pacquiao and American Brandon Rios will be livestreamed for free to typhoon survivors in Tacloban City.

There will be 3 locations: at the airport, the city hall, and at the Tacloban City Astrodome.

“We would like to announce that we are setting it up so our countrymen who survived Typhoon Yolanda can watch the match through livestreaming,” said National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRMMC) executive director Eduardo del Rosario.

Tacloban is the command center that services Eastern Visayas. Electricity and telecommunication lines have yet to be restored in the area.

Del Rosario said they’re working with the telecommunication companies so they can set up the satellite that will allow “collective feed” to the typhoon survivors.

Pacquio earlier said he was dedicating his fight to the victims of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) and those who suffered from the magnitude-7.2 earthquake that hit Central Visayas. He said he felt “very bad over what happened in the Visayas region where more than 10,000 people are believed to have lost their lives.” (READ: Pacquiao dedicates Rios fight to typhoon, quake victims and Pacquiao vows help for Yolanda victims
