Flights to Tagbilaran, 8 areas cancelled due to weather

MANILA, Philippines – Local airlines cancelled flights to Tagbilaran City in Bohol and 8 other areas on Saturday, January 11, due to bad weather as a potential storm approached southern Philippines.

Philippine Airlines Express, Cebu Pacific, and Zest Air cancelled flights to areas that include the following: 

• Tagbilaran

• Cagayan

• Osamiz

• Manila

• Butuan

• Dumaguete

• Dipolog

• Surigao

• Tacloban

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported on Saturday that it spotted a low pressure area (LPA) 680 kilometers east of General Santos City in Mindanao.

An LPA, or a region with a lower atmospheric pressure than surrounding locations, can develop into a storm.
