MANILA, Philippines [2nd UPDATE] – Two people were killed while 24 others were injured when a grenade explosion rocked Iligan City Saturday evening, May 5.

Military reports said the blast occured within the vicinity of El Centro bar in Iligan City at about 7:20 p.m.  Police reports say it happened later near 8 pm.

Initial reports identified only one dead, a certain Junel Dumalagang.

But an Army report shortly before midnight said another one died from the incident. One more victim remains in critical condition, the same report from the Army’s 10th infantry division said.

Iligan police Director Senior Superintendent Celso Regencia told Rappler that members of the Scene of the Crime Operation team recovered part of the grenade that was thrown by a still unidentified person.
