
The worst password among Internet users is no longer “password” but the number sequence “123456.” This is according to online security firm SplashData, which encourages Internet users to use “passphrases,” a combination of random words, numbers and characters that are easy to remember but harder to scam artists to crack. Ranking No. 3 in its list of worst passwords was “12345678,” followed by “qwerty” and “abc123” at Nos. 4 and 5. Splashdata also markets password management applications.
