DAVAO CITY, Philippines (UPDATED) – An improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated by state security forces after it was discovered in Kabacan, North Cotabato, on Wednesday evening, February 5.

The provincial government said the bomb was discovered along the national highway past 8 pm.

Responding authorities immediately cordoned off the area and detonated the IED after defusing it.
