
Malacañang asked Filipinos to be patient in the wake of anticipated congestion caused by the construction starting Monday, February 17, of Skyway Stage 3. The 14.8-kilometer, P26.5-billion elevated expressway will connect the South Luzon Expressway to the North Luzon Expressway. Stretching from Buendia in Makati to Balintawak in Quezon City, the new connector will cut travel time from the north to the south to about 20 minutes, from the present two hours. Expected to be completed in April 2017, an accelerated plan could result in an earlier completion by mid-2016.
