$10k bonus for figure skater Michael Martinez

The MVP Sports Foundation of business tycoon Manny V. Pangilinan is giving Filipino Winter Olympian Michael Christian Martinez a $10,000 bonus. Equivalent to about P440,000, the bonus is in recognition of the figure skater’s “historic” performance, foundation executive director Chot Reyes announced in a tweet on Saturday, February 15. The 17-year-old, the youngest to compete in the Sochi Winter Olympics men’s figure skating event, finished 19th with a total of 184.25 points – 64.81 for the short program and 119.44 for his final free skate routine.
