MANILA, Philippines – At least 11 people were injured after a bus rammed into 8 other vehicles along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City on Saturday, March 1.
Based on initial reports, a Mayamy Bus traversing north Fairview hit the center island of the road and crossed over to the opposite lane, hitting 8 vehicles.
As of posting, investigations are ongoing as to the cause of the accident, according to the Quezon City Traffic Sector 5.
At least 5 of the injured were brought to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.
In 2013, a Mayamy Bus hit a concrete post of the Metro Rail Transit along EDSA in Cubao, Quezon City, injuring 24 people.
Commonwealth Avenue is known as the “killer highway” due to the frequent accidents in the area. It is the widest road in the Philippines, able to accommodate between 6 to 18 lanes. – Rappler.com
