A “life-threatening” condition may compel former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to seek medical treatment abroad. She was brought to the Makati Medical Center Thursday, May 10, after she complained having difficulty breathing. Complications arising from her neck ailment caused the condition. The Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted an anonymous source who said “the choking sensation she experienced was due to the titanium implant that has protruded to her esophagus, causing her to choke.” In 2011, Arroyo underwent 3 surgeries to address her severe neck and back pain. She has been detained at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center.
