MANILA, Philippines – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday evening, April 1, advised motorists to avoid C5 because of a multiple collision along C5 Kalayaan northbound in Makati City.

In a series of tweets, the MMDA said 12 vehicles collided at C5 Kalayaan northbound as of around 5 pm. As of 6:15 pm, C5 northbound near the Kalayaan U-turn slot and the main artery was already passable, as well as the service road.

According to a TV report, at least two people were hurt as a result of the collision.

Earlier, only one lane of the service road was passable. “Main artery totally blocked, service road one lane passable,” said the MMDA.

The MMDA also explained why even the southbound lane was earlier unpassable: “Madami pong usisero at usisera,” said the MMDA in a tweet. (There are a lot of curious bystanders.)

As of 6:35 pm, site has already been cleared, said the MMDA while adding that traffic in the area was still heavy. –
