MANILA, Philippines – The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) and the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) this week announced special schedules for the Holy Week.
The LRTA, which operates and maintains LRT lines 1 and 2, will be closing shop earlier on Holy Wednesday, April 16. On its official Facebook page, the LRTA said the Baclaran and Roosevelt stations of LRT 1 will have their last trip at 8 pm on April 16.
The Santolan station of LRT 2, meanwhile, will have its last trip at 8:30 pm on April 16. The LRT 2’s Recto station will also have its last trip at 8:30 pm.
To make way for a scheduled maintenance, LRT 1 and 2 will not operate from Maundy Thursday, April 17, to Easter Sunday, April 20. Operations will resume on Monday, April 21, at 5 am, the LRTA said.
The MRT 3, meanwhile, will also stop operating from Maundy Thursday, April 17, to Easter Sunday, April 20, and will resume operations on Monday, April 21.
