‘Well-preserved’ dinosaur skeletons excavated in Russia

The well-preserved skeletons of two dinosaurs were dug up by Russian paleontologists, a Russian museum announced on Monday, June 23. The dinosaurs roamed the Earth some 100 million to 120 million years ago. Each skeleton was about two meters long and the species, identified as Psittacosaurus sibiricus, was found 2.5 meters below the surface. Excavation began in late May 2014 and involved Feofanova’s museum, which obtained permission to excavate with a team of Moscow-based paleontologists.
