MANILA, Philippines – Most national roads and bridges in areas affected by Typhoon Glenda (Rammasun) are now passable, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said on Wednesday, July 16.

In a press briefing, DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson said he was “pleasantly surprised” by “minimal” damaged caused by the typhoon. Glenda had maximum sustained winds of 140 km/h near the center and gusts of up to 170 km/h, according to state weather bureau PAGASA

As of 3 pm Wednesday, all national roads in the National Capital Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Eastern Visayas were passable to vehicles.

Some road sections in Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and the Bicol region were closed as of 3 pm.
