ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A magnitude 5.1 earthquake jolted the province of Tawi-Tawi on Tuesday morning, September 9, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, struck 51 kilometers Southeast of South Ubian at around 8:26 am.
Intensity 3 was felt in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi while Intensity 1 was felt in Zamboanga City.
There were no reported damages or casualties but Phivolcs said it was expecting aftershocks. – Rappler.com
