MANILA, Philippines – Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno filed a police blotter against Mayor Alfredo Lim on Saturday, June 23, after Lim allegedly threatened his life and the lives of several city councilors.

Moreno, along with 28 Manila councilors, went to the Manila Police District, at their headquarters along United Nations Avenue to report the alleged threat.

Moreno said Lim threatened them during a speech before barangay officials at the Sheraton Hotel. “Gusto daw ba namin na habang natutulog (siya), mapag-isip (niya) kami ng masama! Wala raw bang (sic) kaming kamatayan,” he said using his Twitter account @iskomoreno.

Rappler is still trying to reach Lim for comment as of posting time.

Moreno has recently joined the party of former President Joseph Estrada, who has expressed intentions to run for Manila mayor in 2013. If he pushes through with this mayoralty bid, Estrada will likely challenge Lim who could be aiming for reelection.

Estrada said he wants Moreno to run with him against Lim. (Read: Erap wants Isko Moreno as running mate for Manila.) – Rappler.com
