MANILA, Philippines — Tropical storm Dindo has exited the Philippines and is moving toward southern China, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) in its 11 a.m. update Friday, June 29.

In the last Pagasa update on Dindo, the state weather bureau located Dindo’s center at 380 kilometers west northwest of Laoag City.

Pagasa, however, maintained its warning that Dindo will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon, bringing occasional rains over western Luzon and western Visayas. This could also trigger flash floods and landslides, it said.

Pagasa thus warned fishing boats and other small vessels not to venture out into Luzon seaboards.

Effects of Dindo left roads closed and several families evacuated, said the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

In its 6 a.m. update Friday, the NDRRMC reported a flash flood in Bukidnon on June 26, which led to the evacuation of 295 families. The storm also led to the cancellation of 7 flights, the NDRRMC said. — Rappler.com
