DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Armed men razed 3 houses, including a hut where the high-value target of a Special Action Force operation in Mamasapano town in Maguindanao was neutralized, on Tuesday evening, February 24.

A source told Rappler that one of the houses that was torched was the hut where Malaysian bomber Zulkifli Bin Hir alias Marwan was reportedly neutralized in the village of Pidsandawan.

Reports said that bomb expert Abdul Basit Usman also stayed in one of the huts and fought the striking unit of the 84th Seaborne Special Action Company using the house as his cover.

In earlier reports, several belongings were still left in the house including some objects that were seen in the picture of the alleged dead body of Marwan.

It is still, however, not clear who perpetrated the incident and what their motives are.

Abu Misry Mama, spokesman of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters, denied knowledge about the incident explaining that there were no reports coming from the ground.

Local authorities are still trying to penetrate the area to verify the incident as of posting. – Rappler.com
