About 10 families volunteered to evacuate to the Gonzaga People’s Gymnasium, authorities said.

In the town of Santa Teresita, the MDRRMC alerted all the barangays to prepare for the onslaught of Typhoon Dodong.

The entire Cagayan Valley region was earlier placed on red alert for Typhoon Dodong.

Santa Teresita Mayor Lolita Garcia said she asked the barangays to help each other in times of disaster.

“We are encouraging them to help their neighboring barangays in case they are not hit hard by the typhoon,” Garcia said.

Garcia added that they already prepositioned hundreds of packs of relief goods.

In the province of Isabela, Governor Isabela Faustino Dy III said forced evacuation has been implemented in some coastal areas.

Thousands of residents were already brought to evacuation centers, Dy said.
