MANILA, Philippines – A US Navy guided-missile cruiser, the USS Shiloh (CG-67), is arriving in Subic Bay over the weekend for a port visit “as part of an ongoing patrol in the Pacific theater,” the US embassy in Manila said in a statement.

It’s multi-role warship capable of addressing threats in the air, water, or ashore. The warship is also capable of employing two SH-60 Seahawk  multi-purpose helicopters, used primarily for anti-submarine warfare,” the embassy statement added.

“The USS Shiloh is part of the forward-deployed Naval Forces of the U.S. 7th Fleet –  the U.S. Department of Defense unified combatant command responsible for the overall stability of the Indo-Asia-Pacific region,” the statement said.

It is manned by a 360-person crew including 31 Filipino-American.
