Palace announces latest appointments

MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang on Saturday, June 6, announced  the latest appointments of President Benigno Aquino III in various departments and governments agencies.

Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte made the announcement in an interview on state-run Radyo ng Bayan.

Among the latest appointments is  Health Undersecretary Vicente Y. Belizario Jr, former vice chancellor for research and executive director of the National Institutes of Health, of the University of the Philippines Manila.  He is a professor in UP Manila’s College of Public Health. 

Westly Rivera Rosario, appointed as  chairperson of the Professional Regulatory Board for Fisheries under the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), is the chief of the National Integrated Fisheries Technology Development Center of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. 

From January 2006 to October 2009, he was the interim executive director of the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute under the Department of Agriculture.

Rosita Lozano Navarro, appointed chairperson of the Professional Regulatory Board for Professional Teachers, is the treasurer of the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation. She was the sixth president and former chief academic officer of Centro Escolar University in Manila. 

Antonio Y. Reyes, appointed as an Optical Media Board member representing an industry relying on Intellectual Property Protection,  is a film director whose works include the Enteng Kabisote series.

Josemaria E. Claro was appointed as a member of the PTV-4 Board of Directors, member representing the Education Sector of the Board of Directors of PTV-4. 

The other appointees are:

• Angelina Angeles Del Mundo – Director IV of the Department of Health
• Elsa P. Agustin and Juvy Cardona Danofrata – Acting Directors IV of the Department of Finance
• Mayumi Quintos Natividad – Acting Director III of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources
• Henry M. Francisco – Acting Public Attorney V of the Public Attorney’s Office under the Department of Justice
