Jolo Catholic church hit by grenade attack

JOLO, Sulu – A grenade exploded in the vicinity of Mount Carmel Cathedral in Jolo, Sulu Wednesday night, August 1, local police reported.

No casualties were reported but the roof of the cathedral was damaged. A loud explosion was overheard.

Initial investigation by the Jolo-PNP revealed that the unidentified suspect lobbed a fragmentation grenade at the roof of the Cathedral.

The police recovered the safety lever pin and shrapnel. – Rappler.com
