MANILA, Philippines – Classes in Navotas City, as well as in some parts of the National Capital Region and Luzon, remain suspended on Thursday, August 2, due to the heavy rain and flood caused by typhoon “Gener” and the southwest monsoon.
In Navotas City, the city government announced Wednesday, August 1, evening that classes from preschool to college will remain suspended. Floodwater in the city is just beginning to subside.
In Malabon City, classes up to high school are still suspended in 6 barangays:
- Longos
- Taniong
- San Agustin
- Tonsuyo
- Dampalit
- Panghulo
In Valenzuela City, classes in 17 schools remain suspended:
- Rincon Elementary School
- Pasolo Elementary School
- Isla Elementary School
- Tagalag Elementary School
- Coloong Elementary School
- Pio Valenzuela Elementary School
- Wawangpulo Elementary School
- A. Deato Elementary School
- P.R. San Diego Elementary School
- Caruhatan West Elementary School
- A. Fernando Elementary School
- Polo National High School
- Karuhatan National High School
- Arkong Bato National High School
- Dalandanan National High School
- Nuestra Senora De Guia Academy
- San Diego Parochial School
In Quezon City, there are no classes in Bagong Silang Elementary School and High School.
In Bulacan, classes are still suspended in the following towns:
- Obando (all schools, all levels)
- Hagonoy West (all preschool and elementary schools)
- San Ildefonso (all schools, all levels)
- Hagonoy East (Hagonoy East CS, San Sebastian and Teodora Cruz only)
- Paombong (Masukol, Sta Cruz and Binakod only)
- Saluysoy
In Benguet and Baguio City, classes in all levels, both public and private, are still suspended.
In Cavite, there are also no classes in the following areas:
- Bacoor City
- Cavite City
- Ternate (preschool to highschool)
- Imus (kinder to elementary)
In Pampanga, classes remain suspended in Masantol.
Typhoon Gener (international codename Saola) has already made landfall over Taiwan, but it continues to affect the southwest monsoon that is bringing rain to Luzon and Western Visayas. – Rappler.com
