Uchimura wins gold, 4 bandminton pairs expelled

After Michael Phelps broke a long-standing record to win the most Olympics medals, Japan’s “superman” Kohei Uchimura takes all-around gymnastics gold, crowning four years of dominance in male gymnastics.  Eight badminton players – four from South Korea, two from Indonesia and two from China – were disqualified for throwing their matches, and Team Philippines has good news and bad news: 19 year old boxer Mark Barriga, widely considered the Philippines’ best bet for a medal, wins his first fight in the men’s light flyweight division to advance to the next round of 16, while archers Rachel Anne Cabral and Mark Javier as well as swimmer Jasmine Alkhaldi were eliminated.
