Junjun Binay ‘temporarily’ leaves Makati City Hall


Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay Jr “temporarily” stepped down from city hall on Wednesday, July 1, following the Court of Appeals decision to hold in abeyance its action on his petition for a temporary restraining order (TRO) on his suspension order. “I am temporarily leaving city hall,” Binay told his supporters in Filipino on July 1, Wednesday morning. He remained defiant, however, and urged his supporters to “continue the fight.” The move comes on the same day his father, Vice President Jojo Binay, is expected to announce his bid to run for the 2016 presidential elections.
