Packing maximum winds of 120 kilometers (75 miles) per hour, Tropical Storm Egay (international codename Linfa), inundated towns in northern Luzon, where relief agencies were braced for disaster on Sunday, July 5. Power has also been knocked out in large areas of the north, hampering communications.
