Alleged mastermind in Ortega murder flees country
PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Philippines - Former Gov Joel T Reyes, alleged mastermind of the killing of broadcaster Gerry Ortega, managed to slip out of the country last March 18 via a Cebu Pacific flight 5J751 bound for Vietnam.
Senior government sources said the ex-governor used a fake passport under the name of Joseph Lim Pe but which bore his real autograph. The passport was supposedly issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs last Feb 3, 2012.
Reyes and his brother Mario, mayor of Coron, have been in hiding since a warrant of arrest was issued against them last March 27 for the murder of Ortega in January 2011.
Ortega was a known environmentalist and a critic of Reyes. - Rappler.com
