MANILA, Philippines – A shallow magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck parts of the Visayas Tuesday afternoon, November 12, government scientists said.
The quake, with an epicenter 31 kilometers northeast of Tagbilaran City (09.86°N, 124.03°E), struck at around 1:21 pm local time.
The depth of focus was 9 km, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) puts the quake at magnitude 4.8.
Intensity V was felt in San Isidro, Bohol and Mandaue City; Cebu City felt it at Intensity IV; while Calape, Bohol and Lapu-Lapu City felt it at intensity III.
The institute said the quake was an aftershock of the October 15 7.2-magnitude quake in Bohol. – Rappler.com
