Governor Jonvic Remulla Jr said Thursday, October 15, that the province would hire education course graduates as supplementary teacher aides or assistants to help in the transition to blended modular learning.
In his social media post, Remula said they were preparing the budget to tap underboard graduates, as well as, those displaced by the closure of over 100 private schools in the province.
“Bagamat hindi sila magiging permanenteng empleyado sa gobyerno, kahit papaano ito ay makakatulong na rin mapagaan ang sitwasyon ng mga mag-aaral, magulang, principal at para sa kanilang nangangailangan ng trabaho,” he said
(Although they will not become permanent government employees, this opportunity could still help ease the dire situation of learners, their parents, school principals, and those who need livelihood.)
In the same post, Remulla noted that because of the pandemic parents were hard-pressed and also inexperienced in tutoring their children. He added that there was a 40% increase in enrollment in public schools, most of them senior high school students.
By underboard, Remulla said he referred to students with degrees in education but still have not taken the teacher’s licensure examinations.
Remulla also said that the #CaviteFreeWiFi project would reach its target of close to 100% coverage by March 2021. The first communities to benefit from these will be covered by end-November 2020
He reminded that free Wi-Fi for public school students was not for gaming, social media, online bullying, trolling, or requesting for #CaviteWalangPasok.
“It’s too late to complain. Let us just work together for our children’s future. Not everyone is blessed to have the facilities, the know-how, nor the patience to help their children learn. But we can do this.” Remulla said. – Rappler
