From a record 584 reported infections on Sunday, DOH-Cordillera says the cases tallied on Monday is 217

The COVID-19 situation in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) improved on Monday, April 5, with the figures for new cases halved compared to Sunday, April

In a late night tally, the Department of Health – Cordillera reported 217 cases, without reports from Abra and Apayao. Most of the cases came from Baguio (74), Ifugao (62) and Benguet (35).

This is much better than the 584 new cases reported on Sunday. That figure was the highest ever for the region. Most of the cases came from Mountain Province (186), Benguet (153) and Baguio (125).

Abra again was not included but the provincial health office recorded 29 new cases in the past two days.

Cordillera logged a total of 3,759 active cases and a total of 22,386 since March 2020. Last Monday’s death from COVID-19 of 6 was the highest daily total.

Cordillera now has recorded 307 deaths with a case fatality rate of 1.37 percent.

The region’s growth rate of new cases in the past two weeks  is moderate at 90% but the average daily attack rate of 15.5% per 100,000 is considered high-risk.  – Rappler.com
