Duterte attends granddaughter Isabelle's San Beda graduation

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday, May 17, attended the senior high school graduation of his granddaughter Isabelle at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.

Isabelle completed senior high school at San Beda College in Alabang.

In a public post on Instagram, Isabelle posted a short video of her with the President, her mother Lovelie Sangkola Sumera, and brother Omar.

Malacañang said Isabelle's father, former Davao City vice mayor Paolo Duterte, also attended the ceremony. She earlier had a public feud with her father on social media.

Duterte "arrived at the PICC Plenary Hall at 9:50 am on Thursday," accompanied by Special Assistant to the President Bong Go and PICC General Manager Renato Padilla, according to Malacañang.

In a separate video posted by one of the parents of the graduates, Isabelle was seen giving her grandfather a hug and a kiss onstage after getting her diploma.

Isabelle earlier faced criticism following her pre-debut pictorial inside the halls of Malacañang Palace, with some photos using the presidential seal as background. (READ: Duterte on Isabelle's photo shoot: Just a 'small matter')

While the President has said that he leads a "simple" lifestyle, Isabelle held a grand debut at The Peninsula Manila. (READ: Want a debut like Isabelle Duterte's? This is how much it'll cost– Rappler.com
