President Rodrigo Duterte signs Proclamation No. 1189 on Thursday, July 15

President Rodrigo Duterte declared Tuesday, July 20, as a regular holiday in commemoration of the Islamic holiday Eid’l Adha.

The declaration was done through Proclamation No. 1189, signed by Duterte on Thursday, July 15.

Eid’l Adha honors the prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to Allah, specifically his readiness to sacrifice his own son Ismail out of obedience.
