(4th UPDATE) Phivolcs says this is an aftershock of the magnitude 6.6 earthquake that also struck Calatagan on July 24

A magnitude 5.8 earthquake of tectonic origin rocked Calatagan, Batangas, on Friday night, August 13.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the tremor struck Calatagan at 11:08 pm, at a depth of 113 kilometers.

Phivolcs initially reported that the it was a magnitude 5.7 earthquake but later revised it to magnitude 5.8.

Phivolcs added that this was an aftershock of the magnitude 6.6 earthquake that struck Calatagan on July 24.
