
MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) officer in Isabela City in Basilan province was shot dead on Saturday, August 11, police said.
Daryl Kinazo was gunned down while he was on his way to the venue where the voter registration for persons with disabilities (PWDs) was being held in Latuan town, according to the initial report.
No other details were available as of posting.
The Comelec declared August 11 as the National PWD Voter Registration Day for the 2013 elections, ordering the setting up of satellite registration centers in easy-to-access places nationwide to cater to PWDs. – Rappler.com, report from Richard Falcatan
