MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) released on Wednesday, December 5, an initial list reflecting the order of appearance of party-list groups on the official ballot for the May 2019 midterm elections.

On the list, Bayan Muna earned the top spot after it was drawn first during the Comelec’s electronic raffle held in its office in Intramuros Wednesday. Among those who filed their certificate of nomination and acceptance with Bayan Muna was incumbent House of Representatives Congressman Carlos Zarate.

At the bottom of the list – taking the 181st spot – was AA-Kasosyo party-list. Resigned communications assistant secretary Mocha Uson filed her certificate of nomination and acceptance with this group.

Uson earlier said she decided to run for a seat in the lower house instead of for senator in order to counter the influence of “terrorist sympathizers” in that chamber. (READ: Mocha Uson’s party linked to pork barrel scam)

Meanwhile, the brother of boxing icon and Senator Manny Pacquiao, Bobby Pacquiao, found his party-list OFW Family Club, Inc, 7th on the list.

Leftist party-list Anakpawis was at  No. 14, while Luntiang Pilipinas had the 21st spot.

During the filing period of certificates of candidacy, former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said he would run with Luntiang Pilipinas to push for environmental legislation after recent calamities. This, however, did not push through after Roque decided to forge ahead  with a Senate bid.

Taking his place instead was veteran journalist Michael Ubac.

Meanwhile, Teachers’ Dignity party got the 25th spot on the list while Aksyon Health Workers took the 28th. In the 30th spot was the Philippine National Police Retirees Association Inc party.

According to Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez, the list is not yet final as some groups failed to attend the raffle. Those without a representative and signature acknowledging their spot on the list would be placed on the list following alphabetical order after AA-Kasosyo.
