MANILA, Philippines – A little over a week left before Election Day, Catholic charismatic group El Shaddai endorsed the candidacies of 14 senatorial bets, most of whom are administration bets.
El Shaddai leader Brother Mike Velarde made the announcement at their "Grand Rally for Peaceful Elections" held in Parañaque City on Saturday, May 4.
The group endorsed the following bets, 10 of them either part of PDP-Laban or Hugpong ng Pagbabago. Benigno "Bam" Aquino III is the sole candidate endorsed from the opposition.
The El Shaddai, a religious Catholic group believed to have around 8 million followers worldwide, is being pursued by politicians every election season, as it is believed to deliver votes for favored candidates. (READ: [OPINION] The folly of religious endorsements) – Rappler.com
