Veteran labor leader Elmer “Bong” Labog is a fixture in rallies – one hand holding the microphone, the other a fist held up high – demanding pro-worker policies be adopted by the government.
This time, the end of the protest march is not at Mendiola nor Intramuros. It’s in Pasay City.
Labog, chairperson of labor group Kilusang Mayo Uno, filed his candidacy for senator under the banner of Makabayang Koalisyon ng Mamamayan.
The Pacquiao-Atienza and De Guzman-Bello tandems included Labog in their Senate slates. Makabayan has yet to announce which presidential bet it will be supporting for the 2022 polls.
