MANILA, Philippines - The Commisson on Elections proclaimed Leni Robredo, widow of the well-loved former Naga City Mayor Jesse Robredo, as the new congresswoman of the third district of Camarines Sur on Wednesday, May 15. 

Robredo won against Nelly Villafuerte, the wife of incumbent Rep Luis Villafuerte Sr. The Villafuerte family has been in power since 1978.

Robredo got 102,694 votes against Nelly Villafuerte's 31,364. - with reports from Raffy Magno
