The Philippines is inching closer towards the 2022 elections as the filing of certificate of candidacies starts on Friday, October 1. 

Who will be running for mayor and vice mayor in the 32 highly-urbanized cities in the May 2022 polls? 

City mayors have the responsibility to supervise programs, projects, services, and other activities in the local government, among others. Vice mayors, meanwhile, preside over the sangguniang panlungsod (city council) and excercise the powers and duties of the city mayor in cases of temporary vacancy, among others.
