Newsbreak Chats: Campaigns like we’ve never seen before
How different are the campaigns for the 2022 national elections? Catch the discussion live on Thursday, April 28!

MANILA, Philippines – For better or worse, the campaign period for the 2022 national elections in the Philippines proved to be different in so many ways.

We’ve seen the power of a volunteer-driven campaign for the presidency of Vice President Leni Robredo as well as the bigger role of disinformation and propaganda in the dictator’s son Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s quest to return to Malacañang.

On Thursday, April 28, Newsbreak, Rappler’s investigative arm, will discuss the different campaigns of presidential candidates, what sets them apart from previous polls, and what this means for future elections.

Rappler investigative editor Miriam Grace A. Go will be joined in the discussion by executive editor Glenda Gloria, managing editor Chay Hofileña, digital strategy head Gemma Bagayaua-Mendoza, and news editor Paterno Esmaquel II.

What are the biggest lessons from this year’s campaign period? Watch the discussion on Thursday at 4 pm. – Rappler.com
