Pulse Asia on voter interest: 'Mindanao is hot'

MANILA, Philippines – Compared to the rest of the country, there are more voters in President Rodrigo Duterte's home region who are “truly interested” in the midterm elections.

Up to 91% of likely voters in Mindanao are “truly interested” in the 2019 polls, according to a Pulse Asia survey conducted from May 3-6.

It’s higher than the percentage of “truly interested” voters in the National Capital Region (77%), Balance Luzon (68%), and the Visayas (85%).

“Mindanao is hot,” said Pulse Asia research director Ana Tabunda.

Mindanao has also consistently showed solid support for Duterte in previous surveys.
